Back in Track

Hello friends , I have been out for a while , because of one simple reason.  "I had  lost my blog..."

I actually didnt know where I had started writing at.
I mean I knew I had started a personal blog, I just didint know where I had started it at.....and now .....

I FOUND IT .......!!!!   That is totally thrilling, Im uptodating my classroom work with my K-A kiddoes.

We are about two weeks from winter break, and lots has been done.
In numbers, measuring, shapes describing and playing.Starting to add and substract.

Group work is strong with our children , they love to help each other and share what they know with thier friends and teachers.
They have also learned about taking care of each other and working out and solving their problems.

Almost back-to-school !!!!

Summer vacations are days away from being over and Im getting really anxious and excited about this new school year!!!
Asides from having a newly batch of kindies Ive got a new coteacher (teaching collegue). In our school we work in twos through pk-k -1st. Its a great system and mainly its because there are 30 children in each class and their overall progress is
sustained. The  exciting thing is starting a new labor year woth
a totally new and "strange" person.
Strange only because we dont know each others teaching styles, methods, likes, preferences, or anything.....
Not like this is the first time in my life this has happened but still it provoques a jerky feeling inside my tum.
To get up my courage Ive been searching pinterest and other teaching sites for. Back to School activities and creative ideas to have in hand. We had planned an informal relaxed meeting this next week so I have to arrange that and see if shes back from her vacation. That should be a good ice-breaking activity go over our styles with a yummy chocolate ice cream or a berries smoothie.
So its a challenging start this new school year. Its important to have an open mind and organize ourselves well so we can manage to give the best of ourselves inside one kindergarten classroom full of playfull new  five year olds. OMG!!!

BTW this my summer vacation motivational poster for year 2014!!!
I hope it works well and keeps me up throughout hard times....

At last summer freedom is here🍉🍒

Finally the most awaited day got here, last PD training morning.Everyone was tired but happy and we still needed to concentrate a little more to revise our own planners, check for understanding and coherence within the units description and the activities and concepts to be carried  out through the unit.
Soln near midday everyone was happy and anxious to leave school and head back home or to whatever they had planned,we thanked our speakers and promised to keep up with what we had acheived and deepened into...Planifying through a structured inquiry...  transdisciplinary concepts...related concepts....etc,and many other eyeopenning
Planner issues.

Transdisciplinary concepts

The best of the three day workshop was learning in a dinamic, games and play way. This made me reflect on my own teaching... How it could seriously be improved from now on.

And now Im of to my beach house to hibernate in the hot warm sands and the cool fresh waters of this country's beautiful sunny coastline. Salud !!!
Have a safe winter
Bye for now,

Mónica ☀️🌊☀️

What is Inquiry learning all about ???

Hi all teacher friends...
Its PD time here in the hot sunny southern hemisphere
two more days to learn, share, and absorb all about our
development unit which this new year is Inquiry.
After a day of fun and moving around activities we all have come
to an essential agreement that all children are natural-born
inquiriers. So we have practically no new things to teach them
about. But we can be facilitators in thier personal or group inquiries
and guide them, helping them to stay focused and on track.
Teachers shared an Inquirer model person in their lives and sketched
a place from childhood that made inquiries fun and easy.
Tommorrows homework: something, a personal object
that symbolized Inquiry to us. That is something that I really
dont know what will be. Books are to me the most powerful
representations of inquiries, and nowadays I cant deny or hide
the fact that my iphone is becoming a most meaningful symbol
of the power of inquiry in me.

I have been around quite along time a little bit over 20 years, Done hundreds of things and have
worked in different schools learning all about routines, programes, and methodologies in teaching.

I hope to share my stuff with anyone who works in a classroom with Early Learners. I also
